Assessing and Commercialising Intellectual Property within Universities

ProspectIP and The University of Northampton’s recent specialist seminar, held at Sunley Management Centre, was attended by over 30 delegates, representing a number of UK universities. The event was attended by individuals representing front-line Technology Transfer Practitioners, through to those responsible for managing University-wide Commercialisation of IP.

The event focussed on delivering a greater awareness of Intellectual Property (IP) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), as well as tools and techniques for assessing and valuing IP.

Key note speaker Tony Hickson, Imperial Innovations Ltd brought to life, through a series of case studies, the realities and intricacies of negotiating and securing deals to commercialise IP generated by academia.
 
Ed Wright from Berryman provided an overview of Intellectual Property Rights, with Derek Palmer and Peter McLeod of ProspectIP discussing Assessing Innovations and Assessing Markets
